Mr. Barti is a marionette with many strings, in more than just one interpretation.
This serious and talented puppet who is also a classical pianist can be enjoyed by children and adults.
Mr. Barti’s show has no dialogue. The story is told with movement and music. When he sits at his piano, we forget that he is made of wood and that his life is literally hanging by his strings. He was ‘born’ in 1986 by puppeteer Alex Mihajlovski who used more than 1000 hours to create the perfect illusion.
For the past 11 years Alex has traveled the world with his ‘living’ Mr. Barti, winning the coveted first prize in the Sierra Street Performance Festival in Switzerland. He also performed exclusively for the Danish royal house at Prince Henrik’s birthday celebration in 1995.
